- Authors must submit original and unpublished articles, where “original” refers to texts that are exclusively authored by those listed as authors. Any use of third-party material requires authorization from the original authors or must fall under the exceptions outlined by intellectual property law. Additionally, proper bibliographical references must be provided in the format prescribed by Littera Scripta. Revista de Filosofía. PLAGIARISM AND SELF-PLAGIRISM
Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are both unethical and unacceptable. In this context, Littera Scripta. Revista de Filosofía disapproves of any instances of total or partial plagiarism or selfplagiarism.
- A publication is rejected if one or more authors submit research that essentially duplicates the same findings in multiple journals or academic outlets.
- Private information, such as conversations and correspondence with third parties, should not be used without explicit written permission from the source.
- Submitting the same article to multiple journals is considered unethical behavior, rendering the manuscript unacceptable.
- An author is considered to have committed self-plagiarism when they reuse their own previously published material without properly citing the original work and presenting it as new and original. It’s important to note that simply including a reference may not be adequate, especially if a significant portion of the text is copied. Without clear indication of the extent of the reused content, both the Editor and the reader may not fully understand the scope of the duplication.
- Since 2023, the originality of manuscripts has been reviewed by Turnitin (part of Originality), which generates a “similarity report.” This report compares the submitted texts to other works published online. The similarity report helps ensure that accepted documents are not previously published works from other scientific journals and that any use of other texts is properly recognized through appropriate citation standards.
The Ethical Standards susbscribed by Littera Scripta. Revista de Filosofía, have been prepared following and adapting the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics, COPE (https://publicationethics.org/core-practices).
MEASURES IN THE EVENT OF PLAGIARISM
If an individual publishes a text in our journal that was authored by someone else, the following actions will be taken: The affected author may contact the Editor or the Editorial Committee via email to explain the situation. Once plagiarism is confirmed, the actual author of the article will be given two options: 1) to republish the document with the correct authorship, or 2) to have the publication removed. In either case, a public apology will be issued to the affected party, as we strongly condemn this practice.
